Default Fiesta1.25 problem

As above when cold it is hard to start and stalls. Its okay after a few minutes.

I was thinking plugs as we've only just had the car and im not sure when they were changed.

Anyother things i should check.....

Right the engine managment light has come on so ive changed the plugs and its go off and does run/start abit better.

Its still stalls when cold and sometimes when its warm aswell. You have to give it gas when your reversing etc or it stalls!

Thought of changing the cold start valve next as above but what else could it be??

Any ideas?

There is normaly a idle speed control valve on the inlet manifold. Its held on by two 8mm bolts.Remove that and clean it out with some brake cleaner then use some wd40.(i use brake fluid on the cossies iscv) and try that.

If it was the iscv wouldnt the revs be everywhere? It idles perfect, its just very sensitive when you go to move off when cold!

Depends how much gas you use to pull away. If you move off with not enough gas the ISCV opens to keep the engine running as it thinks the engine is stalling.

MAF. try unplugging it and see how it does. if it runs better, then it's knackered (as the ecu reverts to a 'safe' value and 'overfuels' it which makes it run better.

There is a little rubber breather set up that sits underneath the ICV, quite hard to describe but has three rubber hoses that connect to each other then into the inlet manifold? I would take them off and check them thoroughly as I've had a few over the years that have split and caused the car to run like a bag of sh*te.
