Seen this bucket of shit on my travels this week lol the front arches were all rusty and shagged and i dont know how it manages to even move!

 

Personally, I think Merc's are shit, but even a Merc doesn't deserve that. What a cunt

its probably on airbags

 

as all ready mentioned more than likely on standard airbags, as a friend has one in his garage sorting the engine out after the owner thought it was a submarine.

 

I did think that at first but it looks like its never moved in ages and you think it would be in better nick if someone had spent a bit of cash on airbags!!

I would'nt go that far with the rust issue.

 

Me either,they do suffer surface rust etc from that era but not too bad for severe rot.
Fords were by far the worst cars for rust until the focus and mk3 mondeo era as they seemed a bit better then.
Trouble was the dervs used to be bombproof...

Airbags aint cheap though, the pump that controls em are Ł2500 a pop!! Ouch!

what engine has it got in it? will it fit into a capri?

Cheap cars these days as they're expensive to maintain and repair. It's probably had the suspension cunted rather than had pricey airbags installed.

The struts go to 'sleep' if left for a period of time so they deflate to an extent. I left mine for a month when I was abroad, come back and she was slammed (although not as low as the pic above!). When the car starts the pump pumps it back up. Apparantly to prolong the life of the struts, but merc was unaware it probably fucks the pump (hence the pumps being a known failure!!). Struts are over a grand a corner :S

I would have told them it was fucjed but they were polish and didn't speak any of the local lingo do I drive off
