The struts go to 'sleep' if left for a period of time so they deflate to an extent. I left mine for a month when I was abroad, come back and she was slammed (although not as low as the pic above!). When the car starts the pump pumps it back up. Apparantly to prolong the life of the struts, but merc was unaware it probably fucks the pump (hence the pumps being a known failure!!). Struts are over a grand a corner :S
