Default yb timing belt scoring issue

anyone had this?

in the past ive had cosworths pick up a bit oil and you see a line of it on belt, but ive noticed an actual score in belt, and at a quick glance it looks like it might be a thermostat housing bolt rubbing off it

Is the belt tensioner rotated the correct way?

As Richie said above undo the tensioner & rotate it in the opposite direction which will move the belt away from the housing .
But if its badly scored i would replace the belt .

As above people. Also make sure there isnt a washer on the thermostat housing which is catching the belt.Ive seen that before.

It should be a washer there, and it`s no problem if if you turn it the right way

when you tighten up the tensioner you can turn it both ways if you turn it anti clock wise it swings down towards the thermostat housing & rubs if you turn it clockwise it goes away from the housing which is what you want.

is it definately scored and not just the usual line down the middle of the belt(on the back)
as thats usual with them, it can make it look like somethings rubbing but its just the shape of the tensioner htat causes it
