Default Tunning my s2 Rst.

Hi peeps!
I'm currently rebuilding the aRSe. And I'm aiming for 220bhp. Not a huge amount but very usable. I hope.
Parts so far.
Cossie turbo.
-31 actuator
Piper filter
Scorpion zorst
Pace intercooler.
Of corse remap.
Iv been reading alot!!!! I mean LOADS. and decided against zvh due to not wanting huge power and the power capabilitys of the cvh.
Recently also decided against bigger valve due to cvhs not liking the hard revs.
How ever!!!
The head is having work done the usual port polish cam ect.
Is a big valve change worth doing whilst it there.
I guess what I'm after is you knowledgeable people to say do this this this and that.
Bobs your uncle.
220bhp or anything above.
Please help thank you

Get some steel rods and propper pistons I there also
Arp bolt set
High pressure oil pump

18 psi is your safe limit
Any more your risking snapping a rod

That my opinion for a much safer more useable engine

Remember as it always goes you will 100% want more power so best to just build it so you can

Also get your self a better cooler
The pace is shit and to small

Look out for a grs or similar

You say remap so what management are you using or do you mean just a chip change on the standard stuff

If standard I'd say look out for a cossie management set up for sale and bin the standard series2 shite

For 220bhp a totally stock engine is fine with just a front mount intercooler, a .36/50 T3 (your Cossie one will do of course), a chipped ECU to remove the boost cut and then it's just whether the old MFI system can fuel for it.
You will of course need an uprated clutch too.

+1
I got 215bhp out of a stock low mileage engine with a paddle clutch, front intercooler, scorpion exhaust and chip was running 24psi peak 20psi after drop.
Ran it like that for 4 years and never played up once.

For that power the pace cooler will be fine, the rad will also still get plenty of air so no issues there!! I had 200 bhp with a standard engibe with a Kent CVH 35 and Pace cooler!

With the correct cam its not essential that you do any head work you will hit around the 200 mark given your standard MFI is up to the job. The valves are huge standard so making them bigger is not required at your level of tune!!

Hope this helps

Chris

So in short of it. All I need to buy is: ecu, fuel pump and cam and arp bolts.
I'm really not living on hopes and dreams I realistically just want the 220bhp mark.
And with what iv got and the couple of bits I need to get that's what I shoul get .
As for a clutch iv been told a standard clutch will cope providing I get the fly wheel reskimmed.
Thanks for all your help everyone.
Ill have it done for fast show in march will anyone be going

ran 22psi with no issues in my old beantin ...
deffo get the arp bolts as normal ones wont take the strain, was running standard cam, standard shot peened rods, grs intercooler and rad, balanced bottom end, ap organic clutch (had to do a mod to the cable and add a mk5 quadrant) some hybrid turbo and the wonders of mark shead
also use the normal air box with a decent air filter but cut the front part of the top, off nasty engine bay design cone filters suck in too much hot air, i saw a real drop in air temps.. had an air charge temp sensor in the cone and throttle housing..
did many trackdays without it blowing up, kinda sorry i sold the thing really...
