Chassis rails rusty - Escort RST S2.
Big hello to all, I'm new to the RS Scene, having recently purchased a S2 Escort RST.
So I had it up on ramps at the weekend, and discovered to my horror that the rear chassis rails have succombed to the dreaded rust.
Has anybody else had to weld replacements in, or had this type of work done?
The floorpan on the F/N/S also needs replacement (as does the floorpan on the O/S/R.
I am preparred to take on the work, but was looking for some advise before going ahead. Any help/suggestions would be much appreciated.
Please help!
Dan.

Yep had new rails on mine last year ,need to strip the rear end right out tank etc ,got my new ones from ford ,small tip leave a small section of the old rail on the car at each end then cut the new ones to slot into the gap, the new ones will go up in the correct place seam weld them in ,then they wont be out of line,if ford no longer stock the rails get down the breakers and cut some mint ones out of a mk4 ,they are out there ,hope this helps
