Removing air con st170
hi first post after lurking for a while so thanks if you can advise me please.
im soon to be turning my st170 into a track car and wondered if there will be any advantage to ditching the air con so theres less drag on the engine??
is it easy to just whip it off and find a belt from a non air con zetec or would i not see any gains for my effort?
thanks

if it's not switched on there'll be no drag on the engine. the compressor has an electromagnetic clutch to disengage it, the only slight drag is from turning a pulley with a bearing in it.
potentially more to be gained by losing the weight of the system, but is it really worth it? i'd rather keep it for demisting.
