Was chatting to some of the lads at work today about cars and re mapping them.
One of them said his mate works for Nissan and told him all you have to do is buy a skyline and chip it then you have 1100bhp, thats when i said "no you cant".
He then said his mate is high up in nissan and you can definatly chip them with no other mods and it will be 1100bhp

 

A lad called Jugen from Blyth own's a GTR with over 1000bhp, but it's more then a chip.

 

Yeah ive seen a few with close to 1000bhp but theyve had massive turbos on and different injectors etc
But he says just a chip

There's always been myths about massive power skylines with just a chip! Local idiot had a nice r33 gtr years ago, changed the exhaust and chip then 600hp he said! Reality it was probably close to 400! It certainly didn't go like 600hp.

When I had an R32 GTR years ago the amount of people that had an opinion of their power output potential was amazing.

I had one plonker come up to me outside tesco.. "niiiice, these are like 500bhp standard, what power's it running?" me, "about 380bhp" plonker.. "you should chip it, my mate's got one and chipped it and it's 750bhp now" me, "blimey, he must have spent some serious money on that" him, "it's just a chip, you can chip em up to 1000bhp, you should get it done"

It is actually a chip on the earlier ones. Got one on my desk actually. Similar to chirping a fossil ecu. Obv you can write custom chips.

Same as everyone that has every approached me about my ERST has a mate who got 300bhp from just turning the boost up.

 

Ford GT super car just needs the supercharger swapped for twin turbo then mapped and they push over 1000bhp at the wheels, check out this video, maybe the american hp figures are different, it does seem to shift though and don't forget the new mustang GT500 is coming out the factory with 662hp for 2013, so there are fords out there that can ho;d there own in the big hp stakes.

 

Bullshit. I drive an R35 gtr currently running 580 bhp and mine is stage2 which consists of an off the shelf map and upgraded airfilters with a y-pipe which is a Decat for the second set of cats. My next step is stage 4 which is 1000cc injectors, 3" intakes with k&n filters, cross-flow intercooler, decatted down pipes and a live map, this will see me to 650/680bhp. To go to the next step you need hybrid turbos, high flow fuel pumps, aftermarket exhaust and uprated circlips on the gearbox, these mods are safe for 850/900bhp. For 1000bhp and over you will need bigger injectors, uprated clutches, forged rods and pistons and more work to the transmission.

So all in all your mate probably works in the mail room or with the micra's.

 

ive done a lot of fabfication on a gtr35 race car , exhausts and manifolds ect and went to see the engine on the dyno on friday . they maxed out the fuel pump in the dyno cell but the engine did 648hp 610ftlbs @5.5k and only .6 bar boost.

they have built a few that are putting out over 1400hp.

 

This is the first time I've heard of the fuel pump being maxed out at 650 bhp, I know the standard injectors will be at 90% duty.

On another note did you make down pipes for R35? Im going to replace mine and it will be cool to have a set made buy you

 

it wasnt the the gtr pump the maxed out it was pump in the cell , not sure what it was .

i did the down pipes but its a space frame race car with a gtr body and i did them on the car.
its all one off stuff.
