BMW Shopping help lol 530d / 525d? Touring? UPDATE - Got one, love it!!!!!!
I've had help off of here before buying a car so thought I'd ask again, I am after a 530d idealy but funds are massive!
I have £4500 spare in cash and my daily Subaru Impreza to trade in against one, or sell etc...
Scoobys are selling between 1500 and 2000, should push for 2K on mine as it's mint and has the nice STi alloys etc, it's a 51 non turbo model, bug eye, will add pic's.
Any one know of any one selling? already asked for a deal on one in for sale area but no joy
Thanks, Kev.

I recently hired a 520D SE and didnt have a great feeling towards it at first as i had an E36 years ago and dials etc are still unchanged so didnt look to appealing inside. But always loved the E60 5 Series, and when driving it, knew i'd be looking for one soon.
I fancy a 530D M Sport when i return home for a daily, lot of car for the cash!
Keep us informed Minirotty if you get one.

when i got my e39 in november the E60s were about 7k for a ropey one!
if youre buying a 5k e60 make sure it aint a pile of poop
i spent just under 5k on a late e39 and that wasnt over the odds!
sports obviously sell for more...

Probably the history was handed into the ins company after it got written off to get a better payout.
Could you not pm Carlo to run a few checks via the computer to see if it had any dealer history?
Could be a bit late now I suppose.
Looks lovely though.

thats a hell of a motor for £5k.
cat D wouldn't bother me in the slightest at that price. I wonder if you can get the details of where it was repaired and exactly what work was carried out

Lots of car for the money but IMO anything at the price range you are looking at (ie the absolute bottom of the market) is not gonna be 100% right.
Dealer history as said is easy enough to check. Its also manual so less desirable.
On the plus side they are great cars, generally dont go wrong, cheap to run, cheap to maintain, comfortable and perform very well. I assume you know the 525, 530 and 535 are all actually 3.0 litre engined in different states of tune.
I think you are making a great choice of car BUT spend a little more to weed out the rubbish.

I would say hat it was damage at the front end as its an SE with the sport front bumper.
Watch out for he alloys as well as there a lot of non BMW copies around and ALL of the inc genuine are prone o flat spots and cracks.

They look like genuine BM wheels.
And its Sport rear bumper aswell.
Cat D wouldnt bother me, look what folk do when restoring cars, cut all sorts of shit out and weld in new panels that isnt done to factory spec, they'res a lad doin a van in the project section and hes cut it from the pillars etc to rebuild it, looks great work, but a car with some damage repaired properly wouldnt bother me if its done right!
These arnt exactly small cars, so not likely to fold up.

I have just bought an E60 530d M-Sport Auto 2005 with all the options, wide screen nav, leather, 19" rims, 100k ect ect.....
There are alot of cars out there but finding the spec/milage ect that i wanted with decent miles was the tough part.
There are plenty out there with loads of miles and basic options but i was picky.

I got it!!!

Over 300+ round trip to deal on the car, best deal I have ever done too.
Love it, the drive home was great, even funny that people on motorway think you're old bill.

Think you had a great buy there fella.
I've repaired over a hundered cars and in all honesty can say that beemers are one of the toughest out there, strong as hell,I'd guess there was nothing more than light panel stuff on them, don't forget the front ends gonna be the thick end of £2000 from a dealer with rad pack, clips, lights, fog lamps etc so take painting, labour,re gassing aircon etc it soon adds up and could easily write something off without recieving much of a hit.
Starting to think about these myself now,I was having ideas of a focus st but these do seem ridiculous value.

Mate, a few of my freinds have Foci ST's and after only driving this home, long journey but still, I wouldn't swap it for any of there ST's mate.
It's a great car for my needs, if I was single, I may have had the ST, but I have a wife, two kids, and two rotties lol these ull suit me right.

nice buy, good luck keeping that cream cream with 2 dogs lol. get yourself a dog guard as the one that comes built in is complete chuff. my staffy jumped between it and the window lol. jealous of your wheels though
Ordered a black mat for the back with black side covers, well my mates mum did it for me whilst we was driving home lol
Wheels are nice and also good as it's not on run flats, test drove one on run flats and was a horrible noisey drive with road noise.
