hi all i have a mk2 mondeo as my everyday car and have recently diy tinted my rear windows and to say ive never done it before im very very happy with the result but now my front windows look too clear if that makes sence. so i know the limit of the front windows is that its got to let in 70%of the light. the standard window are ever so slightly tinted as standard, not by much i know but i dont want to buy some 75% or 70% tint to find its over the limit if the pigs of the road want to pull me over and have a look see and check my windows.

does any body know the tint % of the standard front windows??

i live in dukinfield. just got the camera out and the batteries are flat... not good, i washed the car yesterday and have 3 pics of it afterwards but none yet today. i will be getting some later on today so i will take some then. but here are the pics from yesterday.

I got pulled for tints on a focus I had a few years back and had to have them tested by VOSA. The standard tinted glass is right on the legal limit believe it or not, so if you put anything else on there it will be illegal.

its not much but if i buy some 30% film that little bit could put me in to a Ł30 fixed penalty and me having to tear it off in front of the police.

 

so the front windows are already tinted to 30%??? it seems very light for 30% how would i get mine tested to see what they are?

I know I couldn't beleive it either, but they were 0.5% away from the legal limit.

 

thats shocking, i realy didnt expect them to be 25% it just doesnt look like it.

and Mondeo Rick there 16inch and where do you live then? i live near stamford park.

also the mondeo is my everyday car but i do have a project track car.
