Default Help needed from the pf law squad re car swapping

Ok strange one this my mate had a 2000 y plate Audi a4 turbo on 20's with body kit bla bla bla lad flags him down other day asking if he'll swap Audi for his Astra gsi turbo on an 03 plate. They met up yesterday drove each others car and agreed to do the swap this morning.

Basically swap done lad rings up now sayin he wants to swap back after he gets back from Skegness. About 100 miles each way from here.

So to summarise my mate has the Astra and now wants to keep it but laddo wants it back now he's just phoned me asking what to do and I've said phone police which he has and they've told him its a civil matter and a deal is a deal so what should he do?

What's the issue?
The other boy can do nothing about it but if I were your mate I'd say that there's been a big problem with the Astra and he's not that happy himself but it's in the garage getting sorted.
Psychologically he'll be happy to wash his hands of it then.6
Had this before with a muppet who thought a straight swap meant I'd spend the next few months fixing the issues he knew about before we swapped.
I used the line above and that was that,he was still using the car months later and sold it for a good price so the usual dreamers.

Unless the car isn't as described he's under no obligation to swap back. Never understood this swapping thing but it seems popular with the kids.

Why the fuck you'd swap an Audi for an Astra anyway??? I would generally rather walk than drive a Vauxhall full stop (some exceptions) never mind own one

Tell him to fuck off and make sure the car is a bit more secure.

He prob got home and his old man, GF or mates told him he was a mug.

A deal is a deal as said. What if the lad paid cash for the Audi then drove home and then asked for his money back, would he go give him it back?

Lol v5's have been filled in accordingly so all above board but my mate thinks the lad might not send log book off for Astra if he don't swap back but who knows I've just been out it the Astra and its a weapon for sure.

Lol it's not a vauxhall versus Audi thread but as you brought it up them audis are heavy gutless shitters lol

Fair game then like I told him keep Astra I'm tempted to fuck my st24 off and hand him some cash after that little drive

thats probably because a 2000 audi A4 is worth half of what an astra GSI on an 03 plate is valued at.

I definitely think he went home to show off his new pride and joy, but instead of wanking themselves off over his 20's and bodykit like he did; his pals told him he was mental for swapping his Ashtray for a £1500 Audi... so he got real low, probably cried a little and is now trying to go back on the deal rather than taking his medicine and learning a harsh lesson.

Cheers,
Grant

deal done, if he monkeys about with the v5, your mate should have the receipt to prove he is the new owner .

Yep, proper gutless shitters, that's why mine matches my mates Civic Type R and Clio Cup 200. If you tweek them properly rather than slap fibreglass on them with stupid wheels they can go well. Would love to see an Astra still being punted round tracks with 160k miles on the original engine and turbo.

I would echo what RS Grant said though,

The z20let is a pretty good lump to be fair and vauxhall don't make a bad turbo motor tbh, their pretty tuneable as well.
Not knocking the audi motor either, total crackers I love them.
Having said that my boss in works one turbo just let go at 87k and has made a mess of the engine so you get bad of both.
I think the boy with the Audi who now has the Astra had the better deal, you can get those audis for about a grand,£500's of wheels off eBay,same on a kit and your away.

I'm not saying it's a bad engine. I'm familiar with both the C20 and Z20 LETs, both capable and very tunable.

Everyone to there own lol I do love the Astra and I'm a ford man at that. Oranoco I wasn't having a dig cos you've got an Audi mate but standard they are really slow.

My mate has the better deal definitely and laddo knows he ain't gettin Astra back and seems to have chilled somewhat.

Thanks for the input

I don't dispute that for a second, 150bhp from that engine is pathetic, it's capable of an extra 40 or so with no hassle. Then it would have stolen sales from the 2.8 V6.

I was annoyed with the standard lack of power before I even got home. LoL

I never thought of it like that regarding the v6.
Proper engine that 1.8t,as odd as it sounds I was going to convert my 328i cab to one years ago to be a bit different after an engine failure but time, money and effort stopped me.
I've seen some stupid power ones plus their getting to an age where you can pick them up for scrap money.

I am sure the law has changed to make owners send the Logbook off or you are in bother plus he will have the tear off strip to prove the sale has been done. Tell the lad from Skegness your mate wants £300 to swap back as he's paid out for insurance and fuel
