its an old bmw, reliable if maintained. rwd is crap in bad weather, my touring was a 325 before i binned the engine for the cosworth. couldnt get up the shallowest of hills in the snow with wide ,but good quality tyres.
join e30zone for as much info as you need.the majority are good guys but i dont go on there anymore because some of the mods are arsebandits whove ruined what used to be a good laugh site.

this is mine; its off the road at the mo as its got a problem. This is the 318is (140hp) version - 83k genuine miles, 2 owner car i bought it for scrap money

i cant tell you what they are like to live with day to day as i have only driven it a few times, but its very good to drive, very old school.

I was tempted to do what fuzzy done and put a YB in it, but as its so original i'm going to keep it that way as when i sell it it'll be worth more

excuse the shit pics, its the only ones i have.

no matter what anyone tells you a 1.8is ISNT a baby m3. 6 cylinder 2.5 is where its at. and not every 325 is a sport either.theres a big difference between a 325 and a 325 sport, the genuine sport being a few thousand pounds more compared to £1500 ish for a 325.

There great i used to have a 325 sport as a daily and i loved it was defo one of my farourite cars, i used to love the noise it just maked you want to rev it hard everywhere though. Their not without their faults but for the age of them but there probably better than most if its been looked after, the 325's drink fuel no matter how you drive them, you may aswell get where your going as quick as possible and turn it off

I had a 316i for a year. 70k on the clock, black, very clean. However, it did 2 head gaskets in 6000 miles, numerous water leaks, would chew through rear wheel bearings like there was no tomorrow, rear lights always leaked even when using original bmw gaskets. it got to the point it was being fixed more than driven (and only being a 1.6 it wasn't even that much fun to drive) Not to mention the limited availability of parts and the BMW tax when you finally find the bit you need.

325i sport is probably one of my favourite cars and for me has the best engine note of any car, I just LOVE the note, sack any super cars or bike noise

Currently have a e36 328i, similar note but not the same.... :-(

Engines are bullet proof, usually the bodywork look ok on the exterior but they're rotten underneath. Lift the boot carpets and check the read inner arches, front footwells and sills, also seen some with rusty roofs because of dodgy sunroof drains and seals.
