nothings free as you need to be fully comp to obtain a free repair as your ins company picks up the tab, and the glass company's retain your glass policy excess as their payment anyway

Are you shore? its very very rare to have no x/s on a private ins policy! i used to work for autoglass for 7 years and the arguments you would have with people who said i dont have an x/s when they did on screen replacement!

screen replacement does incur an excess, but a repair doesn't in most cases.

autoglass state that their repairs are usually free as insurance pays up as it saves them money over replacement.
it's the policies where there isn't windscreen cover that tend to cost you coin.

a small local place charges Ł35 for first repair and Ł10 for each additional one on the same car, that's them coming out too. that is if your insurance doesn't cover it, so not exactly expensive

I work for Autoglass

Yes there are some insurance companies with a zero excess, even for replacements.

you only get free wipers on repairs or replacement windscreens. If we dont have your wipers for your vehicle, you'll be offered a free gift which is either a holdall bag, first aid kit or dry wash kit.

Would not have a repair done on any screen by anyone because imo it don't last. A focus i got for the wife had a repair which turned into a crack but because the car was sold on the guarantee was void so to have it replaced i now have to claim or pay myself.

so my free wiper blades will cost me something

so many variables Paul mate when a repair is done, lots of different methods used & type of resin

It also depends on the type of impact its had, some repairs out live the car.

the misses had a chip repaired about three years ago, not gone wrong yet at least, far cheaper than a replacement with all that rain sensing crap in it.
