Default Zetec Turbo - what intercooler??

Ive almost finished my zetec turbo.

basic spec-

forged wossner pistons
PEC rods
ported/polished - Devil developments zetec turbo valve springs
tubular manifold (by Crazycage)
GT3071 turbo, external wastegate
Rover tomcat turbo inlet manifold (injectors being supplied by devil developments)
omex 600 ecu
oil cooler
pace ally rad
bosch 044 + swirl pot

Trying to get around 380 - 400bhp.

What intercooler

What intercooler and fans do you guys recomend? i take it the bigger it is the more space the turbo has to fill with air, therefor more lag?? i dont want too much lag but obviously need my air temps low..

This it what was in there before. take it this is no good for what i need?

Any help much apritiated!

The Pro cooler is no good for anything more than 18psi on a standard T3 never mind a GT30!

My friend had an RS1600i with a 1640cc CVH using a T34 and a Pro cooler. the cooler was on it's knees after about 15psi (70 degrees C every time it came on boost). Swapped it for a GRS and the temps never got above 28 degrees C.

You won't notice the lag from a bigger cooler. The 'extra' lag is sooooo little!

i agree too. so many peeps saying buying a branded cooler for Ł100's (due to all the research out into them etc) instead of a cheap ebay jobbie but i found the toyosports and turborevs coolers to be excellent on my leon cupra with massive decrease in temps.

branded coolers are better, design of end tanks and flow of cores are better in most cases.
however it depends on your requirements, as in can you live with a bigger pressure drop and just whack more boost in to get it out the other end, are you after massive drops with a small cooler due to space etc.

I've got the biggest one they do, think its around Ł100 new. Will see how it performs on mine. Can't see there being any problems. And mine only cost me my time to fit driveshaft seals for someone ( and it's new! )
