I am looking for some help and advice.

I recently bought an XR2i 1.8 16v the 105bhp model. The car was made in 1993 and is a K plate. I am going to strip it down and rebuild it clean it up and fix all that needs fixed on it. It is going to be fitted with a body kit and larger alloys, lowered and up-rated bushes and brakes and suspension parts fitted. The interior is going to be re-trimmed in leather and a custom console and entertainment system fitted. Basically I am trying to make something that little bit different, which leads me on to the engine.

I would like to do all the normal things chrome and clean the engine and up-rate some if not most of the parts, Pistons, Piston rings, rods all that kind of things, but I also wish to add a turbo. Can anyone help with the following,

Where can I get the necessary parts to do this i.e. manifolds and intercooler all that stuff.
Which is the best turbo to fit.
Also if you can’t buy them off the shelf which is the best car to source the parts from to modify or fit straight on.

I will keep you all up to date with how the car is progressing as and when I do things to it.
