GPA cosworth 1986
Hi I`m another norwegian joining your forum
I have a cosworth I`ve owned for 5 years now. It`s been under restoration the last 4 years.
This is the real deal with "only" original 909 motorsport parts.
The car is an original cosworth and the only plate whos been changed is the roof plate because of the original sun roof was removed back in the days when it became a rally car, I belive it was in 1988.
The car was feuterd in fast ford in 2008.
The car has got a new seqv. gearbox and plated 9" x-trac mag. diff, wrc driveshafts, rebuildt engine ++ under my ongoing restoration.

A couple of picturs of some of my former cars

To get hold on new original 909 motorsport parts are tricky.
But... there are some people who have stored away. Spareparts from old rally teams from the good old days.
I buy some parts here in Norway, some in Uk, Italy, Spain and actually Poland.
But really I try to restore as much as I can, I have all the orignal parts it just need some TLC. I Have a barrel og accid to clean the parts or I blast them. Then I zinkplate or paint/powdercoat the old parts.
I like to keep this car as close to original as possible, so I`m wondering if I should mount a a getrag box in the car again... we`ll see

I have dismanteled the radiator fans today to clean, paint and add some "forever black" to the plastic.
The wiring is diffrent then standard cosworth, it`s one cable to each fan. So you can choose to over ride the fans one or both depending on temprature(standing at idle speed etc.).
I also rubbing the car down since it been standing for 4 years the paint has got very dirty.
I have decided to go for decals on the car, and a company in UK are making them for me.
It will look like this

I also have the same mag. wheel as on the picture, only mine is painted in gold.

I`ve been working on my front bumper who I broke driving of the trailer the last time I used the car 4 year ago.
I tried to plastic weld it 15-20 cm, but no luck
The plastic just started to boil and separated into oil and some hard substance and didn`t glue the bumper back together.
So then I used fiberglass on the back and I think this will hold it together. I will take pictures later on.
What would be the price for a used bumper in the Uk if I can`t repair the old one? Any one have a spare one?
I also got the decal kit, it look awsome and I got A1 service form the supplyer

"New" wrc driveshafts to fit with the 9" diff

And some new gauges for security reason, etg and lambda.

I will contionue to rubb down the car, before I will put on the decals.

The car was in really bad shape when I bought it back in 2007.
Before

After

When I bought the car I removed the rust underneat, and put one some 2K primer in a hurry.
So the next plan is the take away the rear suspension and do it in a propper way. And refurbish the rear suspension as well.
When I got it

After a "quick" job wiith the grider and the 2K

I seen some of you guys have done a really good job underneath your car, so I will try to copy this

Thanks, me too, I regret that I sold it. But I found out that one project at a time is enough. So the grp.A car is rarer then the RS 500, and I like to use/abuse my cars from time to time to so then I kept the gpa and sold the RS 500.
Does anyone know where I could get hold of the orginal grey colour of the AP calipters?
