Default My Mk4 Escort (small project)Updated pics 15/11/12

Thought i'd start up a project thread, not going to be a major project just a few small improvments.
1989 'G' Escort 1.4L,bodywise very good,2 previous owners the last having it for 17 yrs,guy owns/runs a garage so has had lots done/well maintained.
Came with 14" Sierra 4x4 alloys & 3 spoke Rs steering wheel.

Managed to find a good pair of 90 spec Recaros local to me,gave them a good clean at the weekend.

Picked this gearknob up on Ebay Ł2-waiting for a leather gaitor to arrive, once its here ill cut the gear stick down slightly.

Back in about 1996 i had a Mk2 Orion 1.6 Ghia which i put Recaros in,had to buy the complete Escort RST trim so had the rear seat still so fitted the bottom section, got the 60% flip down side to go in,only prob is im missing the 40% half cover so need to try & find one (if anyone can point to where i may find one).

Future plans-fit some 90 spec Orion 1.6 ghia/Escort ghia door cards-40mm drop-sports exhaust & 15" Mondeo steel rims in either silver or gun metal.

Small update. After a long search i managed to locate a set of replacement door cards in grey to match the Recaro's (need to get a pair of elec window grab handles as the standard ones are a different size.

Found a set of nos Mk3 Escort steel wheel centre caps, think they finish the wheels off a treat, plus had a 35mm drop.

Sparco mud flaps

Looks in mint condition. Loose the flaps tho mate. Genuine ones would look a lot better or none

What are the door cards from?

I fitted the mudflaps as wanted to give the paintwork more protection. The door cards are from a Orion GL.
