i did mine myself... i have a 2002 vw golf tdi (130bhp)

downloaded a programme called MPPS. Bought the lead for £40 on ebay, and bought the map for my car for £45.

Remapped it to 180bhp. The difference is unbelievable!! Can get the map for pretty much any modern diesel car.

bloody hell, that's cheap.
i paid £200 and went to awesome gti in irlam, was on special offer just before christmas only had he 130 spec bora four days before i committed, but i recommend having a good clutch in place as mine slipped loads before i went with a solid flywheel conversion.

With the proliferation of places offering diesel remaps...I'd have thought people were giving them away free. Northern Ireland is a small place, and I'd say there are hundreds of places here offering these "remaps" from as low as £100
I wouldnt trust any of them ! But the smokey oil burner lovers think they're great, and most of them drive like shit !

Might cost you a little more than the DIY route to go to Stu at Motorsport Dev, but 1) you know your car is in good hands and you're getting good quality workmanship with the aftercare to match, and 2) you're supporting a proper business, run by a proper enthusiast, rather than what is basically piracy

My vote goes to Stu and crew at MSD
