had the same problem on mine mate, in the end, i thought fuck it, and took the bonnet catch off, this is what normally hits the top of the intercooler,

Ive installed lockable bonnet pins now, safer with these on anyway, i wouldnt trust just a bonnet catch as they normally pop open while at high speeds with very messy effects.

I had this problem with mine when i fitted my second fan too,it moved it so far forward that it caught the underside of the bonnet

Drastic times called for drastic measures.I took an angle grinder and skimmed a few mm off the underside I did a tidy job though If you do this just remember to cover any bare metal afterwards

Mine was fine with one fan,it cleared no problem. The extra width makes one of the fans sit on either the left or right hand side of the cooler instead of on the cores so thats why it pushes it out a bit more

mine caught 2 when i tried 2 fans only have 1 on at the min but temps rise to high so i think ill be putting the other back on soon.

i am thinking of cutting the bottom cross member out to drop down the cooler a bit more
so the bonnet will close proper

If cars running hot try fitting a cosworth thermostat, which cuts in at 82c rather than the 88c that the RS turbo one operates at.

Keeps your car 6c cooler

the reason for moving my cooler is because the bonnet has already come open at 50mph, just rebuilding the car now , the cooler is the last thing i need to do!
