Default Gearbox help

Need help I've got a sportka I'm changing the clutch next weekend and was thinking about putting a different gearbox in if you can as I mostly do motorway mileage and at 70-80 it's reving it's nuts off.... But what other gearbox could I put in it

The ratios in the 1.3 duratec box are different, not sure which way though lol but you might be able to find out

I think the 1.3 is longer. The sportka had different ratios so ford could fap over the 0-60 time or something like that.

Mine was at about 3500rpm at 70mph with 16 inch wheels (standard sizE)

Hi thanks for that can I use the same gear linkage and is it a direct replacement ie mounts and speedo drive

I would think things are in the same positions as its the same box, you might have to use your speedo drive, try find a box to compare yours with

The puma box has different mounts to it so nothing will line up as far as I'm aware.. Your best bet I think is to change 5th gear for a lower ratio gear as this will give you a higher speed at a lower rpm..
