Well after 120k miles and driving the gf to the doctors my head gasket decided to go.

Engine I have in the focus at the moment is 1.8 and as I have ITBs sitting in my garage thinking to just swap for 2.0.

I am extremely tight on money at the current having just booked a trip to America next year so my question finally is ....

Can I drop in a 2.0 straight in keeping the 1.8 gearbox?

Yes I know the mtx is alot better gearbox but I'm not chasing big bhp/torque figures.

Will the ib5 gearbox and clutch bolt onto the 2.0 lump and work?
