You would be surprised mate took Rob out for quick road test an we was very surprised how well it grip so was very happy with that as i thought it would be all over the road but its not at all maybe my power steering help lol
Yes mate Rob is a top bloke an knows his stuff thats for sure. Boost is 24psi but after looking at the dyno report he says he will be able to get same power with lower boost an bring turbo in quicker
Cheers mate. 2.1 forged bottom end, crazycage inlet an billet fuel rail, crazycage manifold, adjustable fuel reg, deka 630 injectors, ported an polished head, t3/t4 turbo huge, front mount, external wastegate, ofam management,
Cheers mate the fact that your happy means a lot
Me and Mike were really impressed with the car, it looks hard as in the flesh!
With a few small changes to spec, and some better boost control we should be able to get the boost down a lot and add some more advance to help spool time. We are rev limiting at 6000 rpm at the moment but this thing just builds power with rpm so well. 400 would have been achievable with a 7000 rpm rev limit but the injectors were beginning to reach there limits, and boost control was becoming an issue.
As Ryan says, this is very fast car already
I've got some more pics to send you at some point when my email stops playing silly buggers.

Yea, as Ryan says mate it wasn't bad at all, impressed with how well it did. Big sticky tyres helped a lot, and because the turbo is pretty huge the power comes in fairly late so the road speed is generally up enough to minimise wheel spin.

More picture nice one cheers Rob. Do you think injectors will be ok if fuel pressure is upped.
Yes if we increase fuel pressure a little we should gain some head room. These injectors flow circa 900cc/min at 6Bar fuel pressure. The spray pattern doesn't degrade at high pressures either. So 4-4.5 bar should be fine if your fuel system is nice and healthy
Sounds good mate hopefully in couple of months when sorted new gearbox an few other little bits we can get it back on rollers an hit the 400bhp. still not sure about changing turbo as i do love this one an if you reakon you can get it to come in abit sooner ill def be more then happy with that
I see this there the other day!! looks good in the flesh.wish i said hello now..i was the guy that pulled up behind you at austec in the black audi 5..
Rob seems very knowledgeable and does a good job..
Be carefull though as if everyone finds out thats eps old dd rr they wont believe the power!!lol..
Good power mate!!
cheers danny

Haha, the new dyno dynamics seems spot on
I didn't know you were there Danny or I would have come and said hello! The guys at Austec were really friendly, especially Neil (spot on bloke - dyno operator) so im sure i'll be back there in the future.

Should have said hello mate.

compared to the one EP had before that any way.... I'll be floating between two dyno's for a bit so i'll have a chance to shove my old BM on both for a reference.

The dd is so much better than the old maha!!infact there isnt a comparison..
Next time your up there mate drop me a pm and il pop and say hi as im only up the road..
cheers danny
now hurry up and get rid of that chocolate gear box lol
looks well, sounds like good power too.
60lb deka's will handle extra fuel pressure well, just make sure the fuel pump is in good order.
even an 044 pump is only rated to 5BAR, so 3BAR fuel pressure plus 2BAR boost.
they can handle more, but Bosch do not rate them to run at higher levels for prolonged periods of time. if you get chance to get a 413 pump, grab it, that will run 8BAR all day long, proper motorsport/wrc pump (used in series setup usually for getting the torque those engines require).
i need to get my 2.1 zt on the rollers soon, just fitted a gt3071r, big power to come i think
p.s. just destroyed a t3/t4 in less than four months peaking at 29psi, holding 26psi for the last few miles, i do not recommend going there

I was talking to a Bosch rep not long ago about availability of alternate pumps, the 413 came up but I didn't like the price tag
He basically said that the 044 and the 413 were the same pump, Bosch just grade them. So the really good ones from the batch go in the 413 pile. I suspect they may also use different sundry seals etc too.
There are some really good web pages showing test results from the 044 at various pressures. But I would be happy to see one run 4Bar static rising to 6Bar with boost.
Rob,
cheers mike i look forward to seeing videos. Yes i trying to find gearbox as we speak lol
