Default Those in the know – Fitting a spoiler...

I've got a spoiler to fit to my car (an OE one, not some big lairy thing) and wondered if anyone has any recommendations on what to use to stick it to the car. Should I 'key' the paint underneath, or just stick it on top?

I've always just given stuff like this to bodyshops before so haven't had to do it
myself.

Well normally key the area with a red scotch, use a spirit wipe to clean then apply a black primer which is used on glazing applications then use a polyurethane bond to hold it on, we use "Teroson power adhesive" but there are loads about, if it's a Ford one you can buy the full fitting kit which has all the primer, cleaner and adhesive in it

Cheers that's worth knowing. I'll look into the Ford kit, so I can get the whole lot in one go.

Yeah everything comes in a little box, but if you buy retail be prepared for a shocker as I'm sure it comes out at about ฃ65 inc VAT for the kit, If you know any car window fitters they'll have all the exact same stuff on their vans as its the same process for bonding in glass
