Perfectly usable as an everyday car, paints a little soft so prone to chipping and it drinks fuel like no tomorow i used to average 280 miles to a tank but i have a heavy right foot! Standard cars are not as quick as you expect. Couple hundred qud and its all better with all standard modding bases covered.

Picked up a low mileage FRS up back in Dec 2005, sold it Aug 2008, breathed on it a little to make it go like it should of, not a daily but covered approx 10,000mls in my ownership, never once did it miss a beat, was a great car, may have another in the near future...

But they are! It's the best car I ever owned and I'm so pissed off I didn't buy one about a year ago :-(

I've owned Saphs and it's not the same car.

Saph is old, is raw, needs looking after.

FRS is modern, reliable, comfortable.

NOT fast at all in standard trim in a straight line...... round the twistys awesome but need slightly better brakes.

I do love mine, it gets looks and stares and looks great when clean.

Hoping to get one of these next year or sooner if my present car gives up sooner so for all the existing FRS owners, can you answer a few questions that would be useful to me and also anyone else in the market for one:

1) What sort of mileage would it do on say £20?
2) What is your annual insurance, how old are you and who is it insured with?
3) What are the best basic mods to carry out to a standard car to just give it that little bit extra and what are the approximate costs for the mods suggested?

Sorry if this looks like a hijack of the OP's post but i'm sure the answers will also be relevant and useful to him.
