Here i have for sale my Escort Mk2 RS2000.
Owned by myself for just over 16 years!
The time has come for me to sell my pride and joy and move on to
new projects.
I purchased the car in February 1996 from a friend of a friend in North london.
It was totally standard apart from an Ashley exhaust and K & N filter.
I drove it for 6 months until the oil pump seized and that was when i took it off the road for a full restoration.
It needed new rear arch lips and front splash/kick panels, a pair of wings and a slam panel.
The doors, floorpans, inner and outer sills are all original. I spent 3 years restoring the car and got the car out in summer 1999. It was featured in Classic ford that year also. From then on i had various Pinto engines, ranging from 150bhp 2.1 to a HT racing 2.2 Pinto with twin 50's.

After that i went down the Cosworth YB route and started off with around 400bhp, but that wasnt enough after 3 years, so i then had a complete new engine built with circa 480bhp, This alone cost £10,000 with Pectel P8 management and Various mountune parts on the engine. The head was ported by Neil Roper (ex Mountune) and the rest of the engine was built by Joe Stevens in Maldon, Essex.
Everything on this car is done properly, no short cuts like some Cosworth powered Escorts you see on here and out and about. It has all the right parts which are built to last and take the power. Theres a £3,000 Atlas axle on the rear with a ZF twin plate diff with 3.44 cwp and two piece Quaife halfshafts. All built by HT racing in Kent.
All fuel and brake hoses are teflon lined braided hose. So no smell from the fuel pipes.
I have kept most of the interior in the car, standard RS door cards front and rear and black carpet and glovebox and drivers side storage shelf. The back seat area is stripped with 4 link boxes in place and a multipoint roll cage with Willans Harnesses. I have included an old picture of the floorpans, all original floors and sills.
This car has recorded a time of 10.58 in a 1/4 of a mile @ 130mph. With a 0-60 time of 2.49 seconds and 0-100 in 6 seconds. This was on a 3.75 diff ratio. The car now has a 3.44 ratio, which makes it nicer to drive on the road and for cruising on longer journeys. I would estimate the top speed to be around 175-180mph.

Mountune Fuel Regulator (5.0 Bar)

The Rad and intercooler are made for Sierra Cosworths and modded to fit this car as one offs.
