My mate is looking at fitting a blacktop motor and box from a Mondeo in to his Series One but not turbo'ing it (don't ask)
What work is involved in fitting such box into a mk3 shell - he is a fabricator by trade and i'm sure what needs to be done can be - but he hasn't even looked at the box yet he just wanted to know if it's been done
any links or info appreciated

n/s chassis leg needs clearancing (about 15mm iirc) and a mount fabbing up.
A stabiliser bar needs making for the gearbox. That can bolt up to the original gearbox mounting holes.
Timing end you can either mod the cvh mount or fab one up on the inner wing to use the std mondeo mount.
Chop a hole in the floor for the shift cables and then get someone to make some driveshafts!
I'm doing a blacktop and MTX75 in my MK3 cabby and will be fitting it in the next few weeks.
I'm getting my mounts and shafts off a user here just waiting for time and cash to get it done, but if your mate is a fabricator by trade it should be straightforward enough
