Default wiring fault on engine conversion

Hi, dropped a mk5 rs2000 16v engine in my mk 4 escort xr3i cab. Wired the rs2000 ebgine loom via 2 yellow relays. One as an ignition relay n one as an injection relay. The way ive wired it will prime the fuel pump and make a click in engine.
Ill crank it over n wont start but when i remove key from ign barrel the fuel pump stays on permanent, until i remove fuse on permanent feed to relays. Ill then plug fuse back in then itll do same over again.

The way i can get it to run is by bridging switch wire on relays to fuel pump wire on relays.
It will fire up and run mint but fuel pumps on permanent with switch wire.
Then same happens again, on removal of key engine carries on running, even if i pull all positives off battery until i remove that fuse on relay feed, it wont cut off??

Any ideas? Its prob something so simple like an earth lol but dont want to damage ecu, pump, engine etc

i expect the switching wire is on a perm live

i beleve some ecu's take a feed from the engine so coil pakc or something (been a long time)
and only when the engien cranks does teh singnal to be on constant come in, chek where you took your feeds from, if you put all the lives onto the battery theres nowt to tell the relays when and when not to work

Arite wedge! Can I ask why you have wired it through 2 relays? As The ignition side of things and fuel pump (prime & run) are both controled via the edis + ecu.

pin 22 of the ecu is the fuel pump constant feed, this needs to go to pin 86 (i think) switched live of the fuel pump relay. Im pretty sure that will sort it

On your engine loom there will be a black 12 pin plug m8 that carries oil pressure light, rev counter, fuel pump relay feed etc, have you wired this up correctly to the plug on the car loom?

Yer thats the 1, match the wires on the 8pin plug to to the correct wires on the 12pin plug on the ecu loom, 1 of them is the fuel pump relay switch from the ecu as the fuel pump relay is switched by the ecu , just find out which you need to connect and if its right it'l start.

That was my experience anyway lol
