Default Diesel insurance

are they more expensive than the equivalent petrol to insure, i've never owned a DERV, despite being a diesel engine test engineer

been looking at 5 series and did 2 quotes back to back and the 530i was ovber £100 cheaper to insure than the 530d

got about £4-5k to spend on a new 5 door daily...ideally would like a diesel as the economy on my FRS was shocking so would be nice to have something that does mroe than 250 miles on a tank full

Insurance will still be better than the FRS though.

Been looking at a few 5's on line. A lot of car for the money! And a great size for a family.

probably not, you get siginificant discount for having owned the car along time, being members of owners clubs and specialist brokers even make it cheaper with a few mods

even with all my ncb the bmw (if i get one) will be more to insure than the focus each year

The diesel car will be worth more than its petrol equivalent.
