Default Focus RS mk2 400+ upgrade, and why you should not use the standard inlet

a friend of mine decided to go for the 400+ upgrade, all done and dusted but had to put his name down on a back order on an uprated inlet manifold,

whats the worst that could happen, i'll have my uprated manifold soon so this shitty plastic one should do for a couple of weeks

the results

DOH!!! Is he ordering his inlet from Jamsport for about £1000? If so I know the guy who makes these and Jamsport like to take all the credit for them too! Oh and he doesn't charge £1000 either

I've heard the JWR/Autotech conversion its much safer and more reliable, runs less boost with the same results, aparently there have been a few failures recently with the other conversions which use different software and run a higher peak boost and causing detonation, might be worth some extra research.

Tbh the map ran sweet when it was on, it's just that shitty plastic inlet that's the weak link, hopefully all should be well once that goes on, anyone know what map files pumaspeed use??

To clarify, I wasn't talking about manifold failures due to maps, I was referring to destroying engines becuase of running 1.7 bar of boost like some tuners are doing.
