Default Painting Problem?

Ive started painting my fiesta with normal cellulose grey primar and the first coat was fine but the second came up a bit rough. It feels like sand paper, like really bitty
Anyone know why this might be??

Did you filter the paint before putting it in the gun?

can be few things ,if first coat was fine ,either the air cap holes are blocked ,air pressure down ,standing to far off panel or its drying to fast panel hot ,even so it will sand down anyway

Im not sure on the pressure it says 90psi on the compressor but it doesnt feel that powerful, I didnt filter is as it seemed really thin and i have to adimit it was drying rather quickly. By the time i'd done a whole layer the place where i started was already dry..

Also have to leave the sand paper in water for 1 or two hours. use no 2000 sandpaper. than continue with abrasive paste.

sounds too me like your standing too far away from the panel , possibly combined with the current heat .

whats the optimum temp, always thought it was cold pannels that were a pain,no expert by the way done a few of my own bits with 2k in a can and used a halogen heater and they always come out with a nice shine ,used 1500 grit on the top coat then laquered but 2000 grit would be better, learning every day off this site, also do you flatten the primer,I always have but not sure if your ment to,

The last time i painted was beginning of feb but it was inside a cool workshop aswell. Ive been wet and drying with 500 grit and its come up really smooth, and i was standing about 30cm away from the panel i was painting..

4got to say the reason for the different colour aerosol dusted on is to act as I guid coat block panels down until all the dusted aerosol is gone that's when you no the panel is straight and u don't go to far or not enough
