Well after a recent leak off test revealed 3 fugged injectors so i am planning on removing them tomorrow so i can swap them for 3 reconditioned ones, as swadlicote want mine before they hand over the fresh ones i want to make sure that i spend as little time in the morning removing them.
I have the correct socket and crows foot adapters so i am presuming the process would be as follows.
1. remove injector plug
2. remove union pipe
3. remove injector seal
4. remove injector

There are a few things i am unsure of though, first is the system pressure. The car hasn't moved since 19:00 tonight so i expect that the pressure has dropped over night or do i have to remove any regulators/relays ??

Also what is the best way to cap the common rail feeds where the union pipes go, as they will be of the car i want to make sure that no dirt gets into the rail for obvious reasons.

 

just undo them and dont worry about them really mate keep everything clean and you will be fine, if you are having to recon 3 i would go the whole hog and do all 4 tho tbh as ill put money on you needing a 4th in no time at all

 

I thought the same but the leak off from the other injector was so good i would rather give it the benefit of the doubt before i change it.

Well the work is done, i collected the injectors from swadlicote diesel yesterday and fitted them the same day. I recoded the injectors and she started and ran fine but when i checked the injector codes the formidable showed that two hadn't held their codes. To cut a long story short i left it to cool overnight and did it again this morning, it seems that the super F can only code one injector at a time but i got there in the end and now its such a different car. I would like to say thanks to swadlicote diesel as the guys were really helpful and polite, they even let me jump the counter to go for a wazz in ther toilet as it had been a long journey .

 

Yeah F Super's not great at recoding injectors, but having said that it can be a battle even with the correct Delphi kit!

You needn't have worried about pressures, the system depressurises as soon as you turn the car off (you sometimes hear it)

Sorry to resurect an old thread here, but i have had a similar diagnosis on my Tdci 130 (53 Ghia-x). Don't want to get rid of car really as it's fully loaded with dvd's etc and is great for the kids and my 35 mile commute, but garage wants extortionate money to rectify problem.

Can anyone point me in the direction of special tools, and re-coding equipment? I live in Warwickshire and commute to Derby week days so Swad diesel in pretty much en-route...
