Default My Falcon XR6 turbo play about

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...ansco/Ford.jpg

So there i am happy with my falcon when i decided to change the little nut filter for supplying oil ro the turbo.

A little over tighten resulted in this mess.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...2112011326.jpg

Cracked block area in 3 places on the thread.

Tried to fix it with autoweld but never worked.

Decided it was too much hassle to weld so ordered a forged block from OZ.

Ready to strip

Block getting prepped.

And thats s far as its got so far.

An expensive lesson on why not to over torque a simple fitting.

You drive this daily between Aberdeen and Falkirk?!

You've either got a company fuel card, are earning an extremely tidy salary or are insane...

Look forward to the progress/videos of it up and running.

Cheers,
Grant

Haha something like that.

I work in Aberdeen during the week and go to see my boy in falkirk at weekends. This is one of my daily drives and is always the first key to be picked up.

A mixture of fuel card and oil company

New intercooler shoved in the other week. Made 411HP and 501ft lbs in november @ 0.8bar. Found the actuator diaphram was knackered so ive just stuck in a new uprated one and its back in the garage getting a prop shaft rebalance.

Ive wound it down to .8 bar as its an animal otherwise. No traction control makes every gear exciting.

As the saying goes Glen, there is no replacement for displacement!

I love these aussie Falcons, there is one around my way somewhere, sounds amazing.

Flywheel.

Its going to go back in for some re tuning by a different company from OZ.

Not happy with tis map and lack of communication.

Next tune should see aound 500hp and 600 odd ftlbs.

I had one of these (saloon) off Ford for a week... one of the best road cars I've ever driven and so much fun. Would much rather spend £20,000 on one of these as a quick useable road car than any Cossie / BMW etc you could mention.

Just mega!

Ben
