Any advice on what discs and pads i can go for to upgrade current brakes, since remap, decat etc driving a bit keener than usual and notice brake fade really badly, are grooved and vented discs with a decent pad really going to help or is it just hype?
Need some advice please, i have been looking on the net and ebay etc, there is a zinc plated grooved and vented disc set with mintex pads for £180 which seems good value.
I have got to do something as current brakes and pads are crap and just squeal really badly.

When was the fluid last changed? If not done recently this ould be a contributing factor towards a lot of the fade.

Focus ST discs and calipers are a common upgrade.

 

hi Richie the fluid was changed last month during full service, i have changed calipers discs and pads yet still have fade and constant brake squeal even though discs and pads changed twice since, really fed up with the brakes at the moment.

 

Definitely recommend Focus ST caliper/disc swap. It's a straight swap and is a big improvement on standard. Aftermarket standard sized discs just aren't up to the task of coping with a car that size.
