Default Focus rs brakes onto fiesta rs turbo

Hi all I've done a few google searches but found contrasting information. I've recently purchased a fiesta rs turbo, which I'm very happy with, except the brakes. One of my
Calipers is clearly not working as well as the other, so I plan to upgrade to focus rs front brakes and a mondeo master cylinder.
My question is with fitting the brakes, will I need the mounting brackets, or can I just drill out the existing holes and use them? I've found contrasting information so has anyone done this conversion? Can anyone please help? Many thanks

You will need the mounting brackets. I have fitted them to my mk3 fiesta.there are some photos of the setup in my fieata thread in the project section

as robp-tt said, no way they will fit as standard, a bracket will be needed.
i hope you've got big wheels ready, they will fit under some 16's, but not all.
the only hubs they will fit to directly with the correct spacing is a focus.

Thanks for the input, the cheapest I've found the brackets is Ł80 so far? Does anyone know of any cheaper ones? I've got 17" comps with 7mm spacers so clearance shouldn't be a issue. Thanks again

I ran the brakes from a Fiesta ST on my old 200bhp Fiesta RST, my brother ran ST170 brakes on his Fiesta RST, saddly the project was abandoned before completion but it would have bee heading towards the 300 barrier.

These also allow you to stick with a 16" rim that doesn't balls the way the car drives as much.

you'll struggle to get them cheaper, Ł10 worth of steel and then needs making/machining.
i made my own for my xr2, but spent a few hours tweaking with a template before the final product was done.

both the focus st and fiesta st front brake caiplers are the same just with smaller caipler holders and smaller discs and the fiesta st ones are fuking pointless!!!! thay cost more than the focus ones for some silly reason and the only people that buy them anit got a clue what there doing since thay buy them just because thay dont want to fit anything bigger than 15" rims well gusse what the focus st170 300mm setup will fit behide 99% of aftermaket rims and on std rims it takes 5 mins with a grinder to make them fit as its only 5mm there out in two places to say fit under fiesta zs alloys.

and heres a focus st170 hub caipler and disc inside a 15" rim that hasnt been touched by any grinder....

and the room which is 2mm on the bleeding niple with a blancing weight there...

omg please go away bigger wheels dont make the car handle worse!! all bigger wheels will affect is the gearing and power for handling if you fit say going from a 15" 6j wheel to a 18" 8j wheel the car will handle better as you will have more tyre in contact with the road meaning giving you more GRIP!!

Thanks for the info chaps. As said above I prefer the drive and feel from the 17s, it holds the road better and feels sharper than on the 16s it had before

Nice rant saddly let down by the fact that your full of shit.

I am well aware the Fiesta and Focus calipers are nearly the same, the Fiesta used smaller discs which fitted behind the 15's I was using, a 300mm disc was an absolute non starter. I did not want to change from 15's as in my opinion (based on trial and error) and that of many others, is they are the optimal size for use on these cars. I also obtained the brakes for a very good price through a friend who was a breaker. The brakes were very effective, certainly found them better than the 4x4 Cosworth setup we had been using on my brothers FRST. They are in fact a very good option for many people.

As for the wheel thing you ARE wrong so get a grip yourself before having a stupid arse rant that just makes you sound like a bit of pre-pubescent teenager that's annoyed at mum for taking your Nintendo away.

Hi all sorry to bump my old thread, I've been giving this some more thought. Can I use the focus rs discs on my fiesta? Does anyone know what machine work is needed to the Calipers? Cheers
