hi, just got my car back on the road after a low comp rebuild, the thing is when i first got it on the road 2 weeks ago, i had a clicking sound coming from what i thought the head,at around 2k on the rev range
I changed the tappets but still there, so i thought fook it and left it, while running in the boost was at 18 psi what it was when i took it off the road, so i thought that was too much so last week i took the wire off the amal valve and it took the boost down to 8 psi and more sensable for running in,
The thing is when i took the wire off the clicking sound i had dissapeared!!, ive covered 600 miles today so i thought id plug the amal valve wire back up and the clicking noise has come back!!
Looking at my boost gauge something is clicking right as the boost passes zero on the gauge then goes at around 4 psi,
The amal was brand new from ford one month before i took it off the road! and didnt make this noise!! i dont really want to run a bleed valve as its quicker using the amal valve!.
cant think what else to check!!
