Default **Which car for 12K evo,skyline,rx7?

Ok a while ago i osted this same question but have had some good and bad news. At first i was going to pay the stupid insurance prices for these cars until i discovered classic car insurance . So now i can get any car that is not any newer than 1995 for a pretty resonable price and still afford an old banger run around. But this does now limit me to an
evo 4
scooby 3rd version?- not clued up on these
Rx7
r32gtr&r33 gtr skyline (though won't get much of an r33 at 12k)
possibly supra.
I'm feeling the skyline or rx7 though have only read a little on them. Would like any thoughts, opions experiences with these cars.

Looks sweet whats it for. I keep changing my mind all the time though am most keen on the rx7 and skyline. One thing that confuses me is what is he difference in transmission between the gtr and gtr-v spec.

Btw i am looking for something that has been tuned, 12k should get me a 500bhp gtr hopefully. Have heard rx7s can be fragile when tuned though.

Dont worry about a V-Spec, no real noticable advantage TBH, and weigh a bit more, IMHO best ones to get are really early GTRs as they weigh 50kg less.

RX7s arnt fragile, tuned properly (important word is properly!) they no less reliable when tuned than they are std, and cant say that about many cars!

Supras are probably the least hastle, as RX7s can confuse people as they rotory so very different, GTRs are very complex, at least a Supra is quite striaght forward.

Rudey- Supras are awesome, and can get silly power even from a std engine with bolt ons, the only reason i went for a GTR is grip, lots of power is all well and good, but you need to be able to put the power down to the tarmac, i was sick of the 3dr having no grip, and even with mega wide tyres youd still have the same prob with a Supra etc.

Going to a single DONT make it laggy either, belive me, i defy anyone to tell the difference in power delivery between 1 turbo thats capable of 800bhp and a pair or equally modern 400bhp turbos...

Singles are only laggy when people use old pieces of shit like T88s..

Who does classic car insurance on over 10 yr old cars then? and what are the conditions that go with these type of policy? Also is it a fair bit cheaper?

Just wanna know if i can save a few quid come renewal time.

Cheers

any classic car insurance policy is minimum 15 years old

and you have to be 25 with all insurers except classis policies underwritten by highway usually

whoever told you 10 years on a jap sports car is talking bollox or trying to get you to waste some money

It is actually called a future classic policy or something like that. Must be 21 or over, garaged at night, 5,000k max a year erm and you dont get any ncb bonus which iswhy its probably cheap. The company is called chris knotts who are underwritten by highway

ive been in a couple of single turb rx7's and they weren't laggy..even a t88 powered one...

I'd go with the rx7 mate..like steve said get one that has been done properly and ull av a mint motor..looks wise they leave any skyline for dead imo
