C1 is the most durable as you will only have to apply once every 2 years according to the blurb! I applied it about a year and a half ago on my Focus and the beading is slowly dropping off now...

It definitely is a use and forget type of product...I actually use the complete G-technique range - C4 for plastic trim, C1 for paint and C5 for rims (although I am told its the same product by G-techniq themselves!). There is a new version of C1 coming out apparently which has a longer work time befor it crystalises.

Be sure to work on say half a panel at a time as if the products crystallise, the only way to get it off is machine polish it!

Other products I use are:

Duragloss 101 I think it is (AWESOME shampoo!)
G Techniq P1 polish
Zaino Z5 PRO polish
Dodo Juice Blue Velvet wax
G techniq C1 for paint
G techniq C4 for trim
G techniq C5 for rims
Rain-X (Durability aint the best but I can generally get around 1-2months out of one application....but the price of it beat everything else!)
Megs window cleaner
AG HD Wax
AG Tyre Shine
Aerospace R303 rubber/plastic dressing
FinisKare detailer
Bilberry wheel cleaner

Cant remember what else lol

The above is what I have narrowed my 'ultimate detailing' kit to...there will be more products I will try and see if they make the cut...but im waiting for the days to get better lol

Been using AG hd but obviously there's much better out there.

Can you remember which glass product it was? G1 is for the front screen and needs to be applyed properly,G5 (use to be called G3) is normaly used one the side windows because it wont last long with the wipers.

If the screen was not prepped properly then it may cause issues, the only issues i know of is wiper judder which normaly clears up after a week or 2

Never heard of it causing smearing, might be worth changing your blades just in case its them.

If you look at post 11 in this thread you'll see my car, it has one very thin layer of Dodo Juice Super natural Hybrid on it.

DoDo Juice blue velvet, didn't like it at first, but the longer you leave it set, the better it is.
Collinite 476, cheap and ridiculously long lasting, but a bitch to get off
AutoGlym HD, quick and easy, doesn't last too badly, gives quite a deep shine i think
Meg's next gen wax, love the smell, works very well, and its cheap.
poorboys natty's blue, smells lush, easy and quick to use, doesn't last too long.

Which one i use depends what mood i'm in!

Default Werkstatt Acrylic

Anyone with a White Car should try the Jeffs Werkstat Acrylic kit. I bought some For my wifes Fiat 500 two years ago and used it as the first paint treatment on the day she got the car. Gives a really good finish. She goes 2-3 months sometimes without washing it, and road tar etc just washes off with hot soapy water. Ive treated the car once in December 2009 with it and only recently noticed it needs doing again. Not bad for a £50 kit.
