Default cambelt change on a mk1 focus

changing my cambelt on my 1999 2.0 mk1 focus, but cant find how so set crank pulley. read that there should be a bolt that you remove on the back of the engine, but cant find this bolt anywhere. its an early engine with 3 pulleys in the cambelt kit. any help would be great.

I don't think you can lock the crank? (Other than placing in gear) I know there is a place where you can lock the camshaft in place with a locking pin?

there is a bolt on the front of the engine, under the exhaust manifold then you need to take the rocker cover off and use a timing bar in the end of the cams.

think its 75mm long stud threaded into block, stops the crank weight from turning, there is a m8 plug in the block wall lower r/h/s, you can buy the tool or make 1,

Where in Essex are you? I have the tools - let me know if you get stuck. I'm in Sudbury.

Just out of curiosity, did you make any timing marks prior to proceding? Something I always do out of habit - just in case.

im in wickford, quite away from Sudbury, but cheers anyway. the problem was one of the pulleys had come apart and belt was running on the bearing, it had cut right throught the belt. was so lucky it hadnt snapped. otherwise would have marked everything before removing it.
