Default Anyone with a proper locking wheel nut remover kit? AA ect

I have the sprial type and they dont work on these locking nuts,i need somebody who has a kit like this http://www.lockingwheelnutremover.co...exEnglish.html

Tryed to remove my transit sport wheels to clean them only to find the locking key splines are all sheared off

Ps theres no locking nut info in the van docs.

They are Mcgards locking nuts if thats any use.

Are you a member of the AA?

Give them a shout mate, the patrols do carry a special kit to get them off and it does include the mcgard type.

Mcgards are crap - are they the round ones with a sort of thread on the outside? Hammer a 21 or 22mm (can't remember the right size) extra deep socket over it and simply undo. Serious waste of money!!

They have a washer type end that spins hence why the reverse thread spiral type removers dont work, the wheel nuts are 21mm iirc

The Dynomec kit works 100% on the Mcgard type nuts, I've not failed to get one off yet using it.

Dead easy, you just need to give it some welly with a hammer or it wont dig in enough, the owner had some nice scars from hitting his hand with a hammer

Default Locking wheelnut removal

Hi,

My wife called the AA to remove a locking wheel nut on the side of the road and he beat one of these ' soopa doopa, state of the art, locking wheel nut removal sockets ' on to the offending nut. when it didn't work, he had to recover her car home. I called lockingwheelnutsremoved.com and they came and took the three remaining lock nuts, and the one with the 'tool' still stuck on it.
Those tools may have worked when locking nuts were in their infancy, but not on modern nuts, a total waste of money.

Jon.

None of that old crap works on overtightened modern locking nuts. www, lockingwheelnutsremoved were the only people to guarantee to get them off.

We have that kit at work al. Works really well. The bits are about a Tenner a piece though. Can normally get 2 sets off before you have to replace the bit.
