They dont know what they're on about mate ..The new key has to be programmed with ECU, removing all other codes beforehand, then any others programmed to that. It is really a dealer job mate .. One key costs around 6 quid min. Then there's the programming time. ....

Thanks Al Bags

I've been quoted Ł43 for somebody to duplicate my black key. So that looks to be the cheaper option.

at my Ford parts dept it costs Ł24 for a red key to be cut then you have extra for the programming via the Service dept. like to know where these peeps get
Ł3 or Ł6 from makes me laugh for the new key to be programmed you also need 2 black slave keys

Fair enough .. But that doesnt help Guinnless

The prices quoted around are usually due to different dealers charging what time they like for reprogramming mate.

To have a fully functioning set, there is a fair bit of programming time involved!

if Guinnless wants to pm me ill try and help out with supplying the keys , bearing in mind he will have to tell me his key number ( some peeps might not want to do that ) because of security issues

then all he has to do is sort the programming out

then that would be helping him out

You mean you could supply mother key and other keys with only the key number from service book I got?

The key number coding is easy all! I can read a key code in about 10 seconds ...
then go somewhere else and make it!

There is not really much security in these Tibbe .. or Chubb keys, come to that. ...
One of the reasons we started using PATS.

What you DONT need is a set of those copy key blanks .. like "Mr Minit" ones ..
You know .. those replacement copy keys .. they're shit!

The programming COULD cost you maybe Ł80 mate.... for the lot.
