Default Heater problem

Was sitting in traffic and turned the heating on and it was blowing nice and warm after a couple of mins then when I started to drive it all went cold again any one know why it would do this

my xr3i cabby does this, blows warm for about 1o secs n goes cool. it stays warm on the first turn on heater nob, but if i turn it higher it goes cold??

Sounds like heater matrix is blocked to me

I had that on my rs and eventually it just blew cold. Never did get round to sorting it but I did flush it out both ways a few times and it never made any difference?

Thankfully mines okay so never done one but think its dash out job and abit messy to so i hear!

It is a bit of a messy job, but to be fair if you've never taken the dash out its really not that hard. very fiddly and it doesnt help if you have sausage fingers

Give it a go! Would be easier to replace it with a working unit.

Oh and dont forget to drain the water out otherwise you'll end up with water spilling everywhere inside your rs lol

flushed mine out today with the hose, works a treat now for the first time since i have had it.
