Default Zetec Turbo Pistons Damaged

Im tempted to buy some used zetec turbo pistons, they are 86mm pistons but 1 or 2 have badly scored skirts... Are they usable or scrap?

Cheers

scrap imo. you build a zetec turbo as you want performance so why start with substandard parts?

Save a bit longer and buy some nice, shiny new ones... no point cutting corners just for them to fail and have to rip it all apart again.

Cheers,

i wonder why si is asking about then
they are not suitible for being used, three are fine, but you'd have to get the fourth, have a word with PEC, see if they can get one for you.
i'd just get some from the states, can be done for about Ł300, for about Ł600 you can get rods and pistons from the states.

oh, i thought they were the ones you sold to shane who has now put the pistons on ebay for cheap.
you know the ones were allegedly the clearance wasn't correct and the skirts picked up on the bores, or at least that's the story he was saying anyhow.
actually yours were wiseco weren't they, i think shanes done the ad wrong :blub:

What would make the skirts pick up on the bores?

too much clearance would cause the pistons to twist a bit too much and dig into the bores.
i'm not sure to be honest, but that was why they were removed on favour of new ones.
