teamSPB's Focus RS - Merc C63 AMG brakes, Custom inlet, Custom Gaz coilovers etc etc
Hey everyone, thought I would start a thread about my Focus RS as its slowly coming together now with all the various bits and bobs I want on it for the 2012 show season...

Blueflame exhaust
K+N Gen2 induction kit
Blitz Boost controller
AP Racing 6 paddle clutch
Roose induction hose
Roose one way valve
Radtec Intercooler
Gaz Goldline coilovers
Pagid brake discs
Performance Friction brake pads
5.1 Brake fluid
ST170 headlights
Dark indicators
Intercooler sprayed black
Carbon front splitter
Carbon wing mirrors
Carbon rear splitter
RS Badges
Short aerial
Standard interior minus audio install
Pioneer P90RS + DEQ90 headunit and processor
Pioneer IB100 + UB100 iPod and USB adapters
2 x Mosconi AS100.4 amplifiers
Tru Tech Hammer HC-1 amplifer
CDT ES01 tweeters
CDT ES04 midrange
Hybrid Audio L6 midbass
Ascendant Audio Havoc 12" sub in custom box
Knu Konceptz cabling
XS Power D2400 battery in boot
Dynamat Xtreme sound deadening
Produced 142.5db at 30hz
Just to give an insight, it currently sits pretty like this:

First on the hit list was a detail and tidy up of the front end...which basically consisted of:
Remove front bumper and detail arches, wiring, engine bay, spray intercooler black, spray headlights black, detail wheels etc etc...

Before

After

So now lets start on the 2012 plans as they come together!

First up, some pics of the installation of the carbon mirrors

First off remove the standard mirror cap bit

Then I used PU Flex to glue the new mirror caps on and held them in place with masking tape for 24hours

Et Voila!

Pics of my carbon rear diffuser

And a few of my fog surrounds and bumper fins

Sub being swapped out

Although it doesnt look different on the face...the new motor design has meant more motor force and increased performance on the 50hz+ region. The new motor has also made the sub sound different to the old one in the same box in the respect that the sub sounds even smoother (which is a BIG task in itself!) as the transition between the frequencies is even more effortless and smooth flowing...
I havent had much time to listen to it yet as the car is off the road, but from what I have heard...it sounds lovely!

Next up was a rebuild of my front coilovers...as some of you know, I run the FRS as low as I could get the coilovers to go...this meant winding them right the way down on the Gaz Gold coilovers...
I wanted to go lower so I took them off and got them rebuilt...while Gaz had the coilovers, I made sure they checked them over to make sure they were OK and even after 5 years or so of being on the car, they reported the valves and everything within the shock itself were ok and didnt need rebuilding...
This meant they could get on with modifying the coilovers to go even lower on the front (although they were shaking their heads in disbelief I wanted to go lower LOL)...so this meant a set of Custom springs being made up which are specced for a race car, custom bump stops, and the top of the shock machined...they were then picked up looking like this...

So how low does it sit now???

I hated the original steering wheel in the car so set about looking for a replacement...
I managed to get a Mk2 FRS steering wheel at a decent price which was brand new...had blue stitching and the RS logo was also in blue...snapped that up right away!
Old

New

NOT a straight forward fit by ANY means! A right ball ache to be honest!
DEFINITELY an improvement though! The offset of the wheel is completely different to...where the old steering wheel was a fingers length away from the stalks...this is probably half an inch to an inch further away...
The airbag cover was also a brand new unit...so all in all..its a BRAND new FRS MK2 steering wheel on the car!

Then it was onto a new turbo for this year...The previous turbo was a GT28 from SCC however, I wanted to change it for a little while so another turbo came up and I snapped it up...
This turbo is just a temp turbo for now as it will be making its way onto another car im building...then I will decide if the car is staying with me or if ill be parting with it...if it stays...then things are going to get a whole heap wilder!!!
Some pics of the old turbo vs new

New rims are here...these are more than likely just a temp fix for now until I decide a more permanent solution...failing that, I will have about 4 different sets for the car lol!
Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 9 x 18 of goodness!! BIG shout out to Harps for sorting these out!!!

Yeah they are popular...the price I paid I couldnt really turn them down...I think what will be interesting with mine is how I pull it off with how low I am! Every FRS I have seen with them on seems to ride average height...and we all know I dont do average lol
My external fuel pot and Bosch 044 pump setup...

The above was bought off JohnFRS....Demon Pete also supplied and fitted a DW in tank lift pump (065 rings a bell??)...cheers for the fitting guys!
So, the fuelling system now consists of....
DW 065 lift pump
External swirl pot
Bosch 044 pump
Siemens 870cc injectors!
Should be plenty me thinks!!

HAHA yeah brakes are pretty epic! Hopefully tomorrow I will order my discs and pads, and my second hand hub will turn up next week on wednesday so I can get designing the brackets I need to fit the calipers!
Also received my bonnet lifters from the states, Redline Tuning. Dont know why these were not fitted as standard, and I have always loved hydraulic bonnet lifters so got a set ordered...unfortunately, I got stung by customs charges
Hey-ho...atleast I have them now!

Ill get more pics when I get them fitted
