after months of trying to sort my cabriolet turbo conversion i have got to the point where it starts and idles pretty well but when driving it hold back on acceleration and doesn't run right almost like its not got enough fuel the conversion is a MFI setup and i would think that i could do with a proper tuning setup but living in leeds thier isn't any decent tuners near and to drive it any distance as it is i fear i could do some damage
i could go for the EFI option but that involves time and alot of work meaning i don't get the car on the road this summer
any suggestions where i should go from here

Is it a full rs turbo setup you are using from another car?

I would take it to a specialist tuner who knows MFi very well to get the full potential out the engine.

yes and no most of it came from another car but it was all removed so origin is unknown i stripped checked and rebuilt it all with new parts most of it is new i had alot of issues with starting at first and running rich i took it to a local so called tuner who i thought would sort it for me but he did some stuff set the timing, cam, lowered fuel pressure it the distributor unit charged me Ł250 and overlooked what the real problem was hence after a day it was just as bad ( temp sensor cured that issue ) so i don't want to take it back to him as i think hes not as good as his rep.
the issue is thiers no local tuners here, leeds well lane no longer do old school they seem to be more car sales and jap crap RS in leeds won't even touch RST so that leaves me with minimum 62 miles to chester or 100 miles to blackpool not possible driving distance in its present running state
so thats the reason for the post to get an idea of what other members would do

Couldn't you get it AA/RAC recovered? Drive it out somewhere and call Breakdown stating its not running right and then get it recovered to the garage of your choice.....

how did he adjust your pressure as that might have something to do with it might be running lean, have you got something in car to see what pressure you've got and also have you a afr guage in car, if i remember right mfi runs on 5.5 bar as needs to force injector open

well he said originally it was up at 8 bar fuel pressure so he stripped down the fuel unit and replaced some shims and seals and adjusted it to 5.5 bar i havn't got any gauges or method of testing it for sure i do have another fuel unit so could be worth a try fitting it see if theirs any difference
