Thieves attempted to steal a friend of mine's mk1 frs on Monday night in stoke on Trent but were unsuccessful, the police have contacted him this morning to inform him that one was stolen from stafford last night, might not be the same people but chances are it is, just thought is give everyone a heads up to be extra vigilant because I'd hate anyone else's pride and joy to end up in the hands of these scumbags.

Wankers,some prats tried take my rs turbo last june from a secure compound in day time while i was in Fvertventura last June,was shocked when police rang to inform me of it.Then had wait 5 days before i could get home and check damage etc.Nothing is safe around here(Stoke area).Hope lad in Stafford get his FRS back.

 

i had heard there was being a few cars going missing again around this area, a fella in my street has an escort cosworth parked up his drive, he was telling me that he nearly had his car nicked but caught them in the act and they quickly made way in some sort of van.

 

They're just fucking scum aren't they! Makes me think twice about using mine or going shows in it because you just don't know who's looking at your car and maybe noting the reg etc.

 

Totally Karl, i have often thought this and you can't enjoy the show thinking about our pride and joys

IT is not just up round your way.

They broke into my fathers place last Tuesday in broad daylight, ignored all the other keys for the Escort cabriolet, Cavalier, Astra Van, Pug 206, etc... and just took all the remote keys for my little X-reg Fiesta which I had parked up round there on his driveway in the corner, plus some money they found whilst looking for the keys (about Ł1300 worth ).

Gutted thats shit news however im not surprised there some tasty cars round there spotted a black rs 500 on one street then what looked like a frozen white s2 in a kwik fit type place across the road from it!

This seems to be happening more and more these days.

 

As parts and good cars are getting harder to find and they go UP in value, because of this is I think it is going to get worse. There are very few of some of these cars left, some of the RS’s are less than a 100 for some years! - So here is to the good fight of keeping these cars intact and with their rightful owners! This also means that they are more likely to get broken for bits as the cars tend to be known!

- I think we will end up using smart water and other things like micro dot tags on these cars soon so ANY bit becomes traceable – any we can then enable the authorities to trace them.

The faster more of us do this the bigger the likely hood these vermin get caught! And then we know who they are as details get published in the local press and on line too!

 

is it worth getting a tracker my friend fits alarms and trackers or would that be pointless ?

 

its not exactly a new thing. cars have been getting stolen and broken for many years. you always have to be careful and any security you add will always help a little.
its up to you how tight you are and how much you value your old banger.

Fuck it then I won't bother in future, I just thought I would warn people that there are people targeting RS's, in particular it seems mk1 frs at the moment, in my local area, so to be extra vigilant and then hopefully no one else's car will go missing. I know this sort of thing isn't new but does that mean we should just accept it? Maybe if people posted more threads like this we may be able to prevent a few thefts, who knows?

 

no it doesnt mean we should just accept it but it happens and has been for many years so if anyones complacent enough to not bother about security or basic levels of carefuness then its their own fault really.
should you do all you can and it still goes missing then your never going to stop those sorts anyway.

I caught a few polish lads looking in my sapph about 2 weeks ago (in Crewe so not far away), they were in a big VW van with a car trailer, on polish plates...

No problem mate, thought it worth mentioning that 2 nights before they tried to steal my mates, one of his mates garages was broken into, he's recently sold his though so they must have thought be still had it.

 

Yes pal i did, ran ouside in my boxers lol, exchanged a few lets say harsh words. end result they bolted off and i ended up with 2 broken bones in my hand.

But my car is still in tact, just lucky mine is blocked in by 3 cars and that i caught them...

Being taxed in April chap. Chomping at the bit, havent had it out since September!

Its a case of being careful. I rarely use it at night and it never leaves my sight when out!
