yea talk to alan geffreys he'll be able to get everything for you need but trust me it wont be cheap if done properly,i did this a couple of years ago i got into thousands, got it all done then sold it and bought a cossy engine lol was cheaper than twin tubo 2.9 v6,
was a proper good laugh though but in my opinion just buy a cossy lump

Turbo Technics did a number of different twin turbo conversions, from 225 right to 323 bhp in the Minker. The kits come up on ebay reasonably often, seem to sell anything from £500 upwards. Alan now deals with these, he bought all the rest of the parts from Turbo Technics when they stopped doing the conversions. Really nice chap and knows his stuff.

I bought my kit second hand about 12 years ago, think I paid about £400 for it but it wasn't complete. I bought the DCU from Alan and used different intercoolers and boost pipes as they were also missing.

Alan did mine as well many many moons ago, around about 1999/2000

Cost about £3k all in but it was awesome

Thinking about it now, it's probably easier to buy a cossie as you need loads of extra cooling and they drink like a bastard, 22 miles in half a tank was eye watering 10 years ago, imagine what that'll cost in today's money

Back in the day when petrol was cheap and you could get away with claiming 55,000 bhp from an air filter and a peco bb4

Mine didn't need any extra cooling and was a tad better than that on mpg

Mine has a copper core Pinto rad and DOHC fans and cools fine. The manifolds and turbo outlet pipes are thermal wrapped and I have a thermal cover round the ABS stuff. Under bonnet temps are lower than a standard 2.9 now. Mine averages about 24 mpg.

having owned 2 twinturbo XR4x4s and a 24v car i'd reccomend only doing this conversion if you can find a complete kit cheap. like 500quid cheap

if you have any bits missing youre gonna have to spend qutie a bit of cash getting stuff made up

do consider a 24v conversion. these are not as quick, but theyre 90% as good and piss easy to do and also very cheap.

my first one:

proper quick it was (had dojj's old setup) but car was a shed

my second one:

don't let cowboy mechanics near modified cars

then i went 24v:

spent LOADS of money on those cars, in the end i bought a FOUR GRAND m3 which was 10x the car and never looked back!

yeah got it as as i broke a rotten car that had it on, are the engines changed in anyway or can the kit be bolted to my current engine, i do have a rolling road graph for 231 BHP but took that with a pinch of salt to be honest

may just be easie to drop it all in as if i remeber the sumps etc are modified with oil feeds

150bhp -> 200bhp

that will make a massive difference! plus the big midrange increase!

Turbo colognes do drive very nicely, they feel like they should have had the turbo as standard.

there's nothing wrong with them, the issue is that there are better engines available for the sierra that are also cheaper, so spending money on one is not good value.

if you dont care about value and just have a passion for this kind of thing then it's not a bad idea! i've always wanted to build a 500bhp 24v Cologne for a sierra if i win the lottery, but until the day i have money to BURN it'll never happen

janspeed ones were a bit rarer and there were ones with different bottom ends on the 2.8's

can't remember who had one on the xr forum but it was 260 brake and plenty noisy/quick until he rolled it into a field on a gentle drive home

go and have a look at skogenracing lads they use a lot of the 2.9 engines but using a single turbo conversion lik the gt40 etc they are getting massive power to basicaly stock engines near enough,i know they use megasquirt ecu with bigger injectors 2.8 head bolts as there not stretch bolts and a couple of other things
