thought id start a thread about my car even though ive done most of the big spending. i bought the car near enough standard with just a RS500 front bumper and lower rear spoiler after selling one of the worst cars ive owned a Astra GSI, sooo boring to drive fast.


i had the wheels refurbed then sold them for some split rims

This was Croft 5-6 years ago. (Pics taken by somebody on here)




I then got paid off a a year or so later so work and my interest in the car dropped off

 

These pics were taken a couple of years ago when id bought a RS500 top spoiler off RSNISSAN on here

 

last year i bought a new 2nd hand S/S exhaust as the old was was pants

i also bought some Konis as the Leda coilovers where mega HARD
also i painted/powdercoated them black




Now sitting on Konis

My current plan with the car is to remove the leather



So today was spent pulling it all out

 

ive also just bought half a standard trim some of its in our dinning room much to my las's joy


but most of its in the shed

Rite, so today started by selling my Leather trim



i then went to Halfords for some supplys with my money



i done some wax oiling in the Sills, doors and rear quarters




When i sold the Leather i also got a knackered 3DR dash as part of the deal




If anyone has any interior parts for sale please let me know, Im after the long bottom part of the rear bench, two front door cards, parcel shelf, and the plastics at the side of the parcel shelf

Ok, so as my las is watching the soaps i decided to tinker with my car a little.

I got a new seat foam off Ebay as the old one was knackered



New one going on


Seems a bit tight compared to the old one but im hoping it will wear in

New

and while my dash is out i decided to try and clean the wiring loom up

Some of the work to do




Some of the stuff ive removed, more to do though


Also got a new Saph dash

 

Had a bit repair work to do on the air vent on the new dash

Also removed/repaired somemore of the wiring loom


hoping to finsh the loom and get the dash in the weekend

 

Car looks great

will be so much better with the cloth trim

Getting better and when the cloth is in it will look awesome - i took some pictures of this car a few years ago as i was parked next to it at Croft - 2009 i think

Yeah its port of tyne, not sure if its a coal yard, i used to work at Ford Areospace in there.

 

Do my eyes deceive me! there is no sign of rust in a cosworth floor pan & gearbox tunnel

Looking very nice mate one thing i did with the boot light was put a relay on it to the electric ariel so if by any chanse the radio is on and i open the boot it gose done so i dont brake it off i was told that they did this to the Rs500,s but i dont no the trooth behind this

 

Sounds like a good idea, i'll look into that

 

OK, so me and my scruffy m8, headed out side to sort the rest of the trim out ( what little i have)


ended up like this as i need to source the rest of the parts, i have a passsanger seat but if i fit that ill have to take my las out


also had to refit the front end as i painted some rusty brackets black


then gave it a good scrub as its been a while and went for a little drive, was quite foggy (bit naughty as theres no tax yet)

Im sure it was this car that came in when i worked there.

your old astra looked nice, i dont think there crap at all, no match for the 3 door but still a nice 90s hatch

 

Lovely motor mate! Once I'm married etc I'm finally gonna get another cosworth a 3rd this time around! Good work there mate the cloth will look so much better than leather! Any other plans?

 

got my passanger seat in and taxed the car

also got some of the Bileberry wheel cleaner as its a bit of a payne to clean the wheels, Bilberry stuff is AWSOME

 

Im after some advice, im trying to get me rev counter working, so far ive checked the green wire and cleaned all the earths. Any ideas?
