Default Diagnostic scanner

Hi folks,

I've been looking into getting myself a decent diagnostic set up. I want something decent from the off so I don't have to buy twice, however I don't want to spend a small fortune so second hand might be an option!

I need it to read and reset fault codes for ABS, air bags etc so what do people recommend ?

Ive looked at snap on but they're all dear unless I went for an older mt2500 unit but I don't really know anything about them!..

Also looked at the blue point micro scan but not sure if it reads abs and air bags etc

Many thanks for your help people!

Ask on a proper diagnostics forum like BBA-reman's forum.

Or Ilexa ( although their forum is still down. )

All depends what cars you work on, there will very rarely one that does everything.

And if it does it won't be cheap. Can lease some equipment.

I used a Snap on Solus for a few weeks, what a load of shite, wouldn't communicate with half the cars I tried it on.

What about the sealey one?
Does it all for about a grand, airbag, abs and fault code,it'll be more than enough for a few years.
I used to use a handheld mac tools one in my garage and it did pretty much all fault codes apart from(ironically as I owned one) a changeover year Corsa.

The snap on one did that but it was Ł5000 compared to my Ł90 unit!!!

Thanks for the advice so far people!

I'm not looking at spending thousands just yet, but at the same time it would probs save money in the long run....

Been having a look on Ebay and found this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3006667193...84.m1423.l2649

What you recon? is it worth a go at the price or will it be a bag of poo???

Until you buy and use any system, you wont know what it wont do. And unlikely the seller is going to tell you !

Try a Bosch KTS200 - http://www.bosch-kts200.com/uk/en/index.htm.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BOSCH-KTS-...0#ht_648wt_932

The KTS670 is top end equipment, KTS340 is mid range and the KTS200 is entry level.
