xflow tuning tips

Default xflow tuning tips

Hey guys ive sold my sierra now and got my old vauxhall chevette back but before you shred me its running a xflow lol so Im sticking with ford in that aspect

basically its a 1300 xflow and id like some tips on how i can get more power out of it and making it run better any advice greatly received

Is there no way of tuning it or am i being ignored because i don't have a ford anymore? :-(

non ford owner probaly lol but a cheap easy way to get better power is to make them breath better by fitting twin 40s and a 421 exhaust manifold then go for cams and porting after if you still want more and spend more

i put 1100s pistons in mine as it highers the compression set of 40,s cam and some head work

Fit a 1600, by the time you mess on putting new pistons, twin 40's, cams etc, you'll only have brought the power about level with that of a standard 1600, then do the whole piston swap, cam, twin 40's, makes far more sense, thats what im rolling with, but ive got bik carbs instead.

Nothing wrong with a shuvit mate, had one my self for a while.

As for tuning tips, as has been said, fit a 1600 then tune that. Fit some 1300 gt pistons, some mild porting a decent cam and some 40's.

Not massive power but should liven up a small car like a Chevette.

I would say any thing from Ł100 for an engine to rebuild, to Ł4k+ for a race engine. I've just had a look on ebay and there's a few on.
