I'm replace acing the engine in my mk5 rs2000 as I got an engine which has done 40'000 for the price of a service kit.
Never done much with mk5 escorts so I'm wondering what's the easiest way to remove the engine?
From above, drop it down?gearbox out aswell or still in?I'd rather not take the box out if possible but if I have to then so be it!

i've just done a full respray on my 4x4 and it's best to drop the whole front end
keep the engine & gearbox together, basically unbolt the subframe and the top shock mounts (bit more to it then than lol) and drop the whole lot
it's way easier to work on that way

hope this helps and try us at www.rs2000-16v.com mate

Cheers for the info, after seeing that I don't think I'll bother!
I'll get the new engine on eBay and give my engine a good service with the money!
Car looks good in the after pic, that's a huge job you have undertaken by the looks of it!
